With the release of Fedora 38, FESCo has agreed to push x86'64 / AArch64 ISO image for Phosh Wayland synthesizer

CTOnews.com, December 6, Fedora Engineering and steering Committee (FESCo) has agreed to create new x86x64 and AArch64 ISO images for mobile devices using Phosh Wayland synthesizers.

CTOnews.com learned that Phosh is a Wayland synthesizer developed by Purism and other developers as a GNOME-based Wayland shell that focuses primarily on mobile devices.

It has been proposed to create a Fedora Linux image with Phosh and is intended for use with Fedora mobile devices on x86room64 and AArch64. The proposal has now been voted on by the FESCO committee and will be launched next spring with Fedora 38.

Fedora's Mobility SIG has packaged Phosh and related software packages into a "phosh-desktop" package group. With FESCo approval, the development team has begun to develop x86 installed 64 and AArch64 installation images for mobile devices and tablets. In addition, people in Fedora Mobility are also following Plasma Mobile images.
