CTOnews.com December 7 news, according to TheElec reported that Apple has begun working with South Korean panel suppliers Samsung Display and LG Display to develop 20.25-inch foldable OLED panels.

Whether the panel will be commercialized, however, has yet to be determined. This project may be the core technology needed to ensure the launch of foldable panel products. The panel is 20.25 inches when unfolded and 15.3 inches when folded. Judging by its size, the panel was most likely developed for Apple MacBook series laptops.

CTOnews.com understands that Apple has yet to implement OLED panels on the iPad and MacBook series. Currently, MacBook screens are at most 16 inches, while iPads are around 10 inches.

TheElec said the iPad with OLED panels is under development, and Apple expects to launch 11-inch and 12.9-inch models in 2024, with panels supplied by Samsung Display and LG Display.

MacBooks equipped with OLED panels are expected to be released around 2026. MacBooks with foldable OLED panels may be later, but Apple may launch iPads with foldable OLED panels before then.
