The veteran music player WinAmp 5.9.1 has been released, with new support for NFT music function.
CTOnews.com, December 7 (Xinhua)-- based on the 5.9 version released in August this year, the veteran music player WinAmp recently released a 5.9.1 update. In addition to fixing the problems found in previous versions, this update also adds NFT (non-homogenized tokens) music features.
Like the familiar NFT pictures, music can also be run through NFT, but the link will jump to a digital music file. In this way, musicians can also make more money by selling their music through NFT channels.
In a statement provided to foreign science and technology media Ars Technica, Winamp said:
The latest version of Winamp allows music lovers to link their Metamask bags to Winamp via Brave, Chrome or Firefox. Then it connects their favorite music, NFT, to this old and sturdy player.
Winamp supports audio and video files distributed according to ERC-721 and ERC-1155 standards, and is introducing this new feature for Ethernet Fong and Polygon / Matic protocols.
CTOnews.com learned that in other fixes, the new version reduced memory footprint, increased streaming music bandwidth, updated OpenSSL to 3.0.5, optimized the underlying codec, and so on.
