CTOnews.com learned that the Transportation Administration of the Ministry of Public Security said that from the founding of New China to 2003, the number of drivers in the country reached 100 million, which took a full 54 years. It took 11 years for the number of drivers to grow from 100 million to 300 million between 2003 and 2014. Drivers have entered a period of sustained and rapid growth since 2014. in only eight years, the number of drivers in China has exceeded 500 million, with an average annual increase of 25 million.

At present, the number of drivers in China accounts for nearly 50% of the number of adults, with an average of 1 in 2 adults holding a driver's license. At the same time, the number of cars is growing rapidly, with more than 300 million cars in the country, with an average annual increase of more than 20 million in recent years. At present, the number of cars per thousand people in China has reached 225, with an average of 60 cars per 100 households.

In terms of the structure of car drivers, the number of new drivers has soared. The number of drivers who have been driving for less than three years has reached 103 million, accounting for 20.6%, accounting for 20.6%. The number of low-age drivers under the age of 25 has reached 54.48 million, accounting for 10.9%. College students have become an important group for students to learn to drive and get a license. From the perspective of driving license, the number of drivers holding Class C small cars reached 410 million, accounting for 82.6 percent, and the number of drivers holding Class An and B large and medium-sized vans reached 49.77 million, accounting for 9.9 percent.
