CTOnews.com, December 8 (Xinhua)-- Kevin Bates (Kevin Bates) built a handheld game console called Arduboy in 2014, which is only the size of a business card. Eight years later, Kevin Bates launched a new generation of Arduboy Mini, which, as the name suggests, has shrunk to the size of an adult thumb.

In fact, Arduboy Mini announced three years ago, recently launched crowdfunding on Kickstarter, and has now achieved its crowdfunding goal. The crowdfunding campaign is scheduled to end on January 4, 2023, and the first Arduboy Mini shipments will take at least five months.

Arduboy Mini runs the Arduino system, which is compatible with all games developed for Arduboy, with 6 buttons and pre-loaded with more than 300 games, basically covering all the games developed by the system, while the previous generation of products pre-installed more than 200 games. These games can only be played on the device's 0.96-inch OLED display with a resolution of 128x64. The console uses a 16MHz Atmega32u4 processor and has 16MB storage.

It's worth mentioning that this 8-bit console doesn't have speakers, batteries or casings, so it looks like simply soldering a bare circuit board to a screen. The console has a USB Type-C port, needs to be powered by cables when playing games, and there are already many tutorials that can speed you up.

CTOnews.com learned that the Arduboy Mini is available in "standard" and "graffiti" colors and sells for $29.
