CTOnews.com, December 8 (Xinhua)-- Canalys released its latest research report today, saying that shipments of personal computers (including desktops, laptops and workstations) in China fell by 13% in the third quarter of 2022.

Shipments of desktops (including desktop workstations) and laptops (including mobile workstations) in Chinese PCs fell 31 per cent and 3 per cent respectively in the third quarter of 2022, while tablets fell 3 per cent year-on-year, according to Touyuan Canalys.

In terms of manufacturers, Lenovo tops the list in China's PC market, followed by Dell, Hewlett-Packard, Asustek and Huawei, respectively.

CTOnews.com learned that global PC shipments fell 18 per cent to 69.4 million in the third quarter of this year, with laptop shipments being the most affected, down 19 per cent from a year earlier to 54.7 million units, according to research released by Canalys. For manufacturers, Lenovo remained a leader in the global PC market in the third quarter of this year, but shipments fell 16 per cent year-on-year to 16.9 million units. Hewlett-Packard suffered the biggest decline among the top five manufacturers for two consecutive quarters, with shipments of 12.7 million units, down 28% from a year earlier. Shipments from Lenovo and Hewlett-Packard were both the lowest since the outbreak in the first quarter of 2020. Dell, which ranked third, also saw a sharp decline, with shipments of nearly 12 million units, a drop of 21%. Apple ranked fourth and Asustek fifth.
