CTOnews.com, December 8 (Xinhua)-- Microsoft announced one of the most demanding features for customers after Dev Development Channel released Edge browser 110 and ended support for Windows 7 and Windows 8.1. Microsoft Edge Modern browser can now open favorites in new tabs like Edge Legacy Classic.

According to posts on the official Tech Community Forum, the option for Edge to open favorites in the new tab will first be available to users of Dev and Canary channels. At present, Microsoft is gradually pushing. Users can check whether Edge Dev or Canary allows favorites to be opened in a new tab by navigating to Settings > appearance.

Microsoft Edge developers are also busy completing other long-awaited features of the browser. Microsoft says users will soon be able to double-click to close the tab and search in their favorites.

Edge 108stable is Microsoft's last major update in 2022, and developers will resume feature updates for Edge on stable and Beta channels in January 2023.

CTOnews.com learned that Microsoft recently released an updated Manifest V3 roadmap. Like Google, Microsoft will continue to support Manifest V2-based extensions until at least January 2024.
