CTOnews.com Microsoft Teams and Outlook, Microsoft's online communication and collaboration services for businesses, regularly feature new features that not only retain existing customers, but also better attract new customers. Now Microsoft reveals that it is working on a very clever integration between the two services.

According to new information from Microsoft 365 Roadmap, Microsoft is working on integrating it to allow users to access Teams Chat directly from Outlook meetings. Participants in the meeting will be able to send "quick" messages or view chat logs.

The feature ID assigned to this integration is 98130, which indicates that universal availability for the Web version will be achieved in March 2023.

CTOnews.com learned that Microsoft Outlook and Teams already have integration, and on the Web users can click on the Teams call or chat icon at the top to open them in a separate browser window. However, the upcoming integration seems to be more seamless, with users able to access Teams chat directly from Outlook. This may apply to any meeting scheduled as a Teams call, as chat logs are automatically created for such events in Teams. They are now easier to access directly from Outlook.
