According to reports, this is the first large-scale commercial nuclear power project for the application of the home-made "Dragon scale" system independently developed by the China Nuclear Corporation, and is of great significance to achieve independent control and ensure the integrity and safety of the supply chain industry chain.
Nuclear power safety level DCS system, known as the "central nervous system" of nuclear power plants, is an important system to ensure the safety of nuclear reactors and personnel, with high safety level, technical difficulty and strict quality requirements.
In 2013, the Nuclear Power Institute of China Nuclear Corporation responded positively to the call that "core technology must be self-reliant" and took the initiative and raised funds to start the research and development of the "Dragon scale" system. In 2018, it completed the research and development of the core technology and successfully released the "Dragon scale" system. In 2019, the Zhangzhou No. 1 project was officially launched. Today, after 7 years of tackling key scientific and technological problems and 3 years of engineering practice, the safety level DCS system of Zhangzhou No. 1 unit has been successfully shipped and delivered to the site.
CTOnews.com learned that the Zhangzhou nuclear power project will not only usher in the first domestic nuclear power safety class DCS, but also will carry out a new expansion project. On September 13, after deliberation at the executive meeting of the State Council, it was decided to approve the No. 3 and No. 4 units of the Fujian Zhangzhou nuclear power project, which have been reviewed by the comprehensive safety assessment and incorporated into the national planning. The project is the second phase expansion project within the planned capacity of the plant site, the model is Hualong No.1, and the rated electric power of a single unit is 1212MW.
