IPhone 14 users can now contact emergency services without mobile phone and Wi-Fi coverage, and calls via satellite emergency services will be transferred to local emergency services.

Apple's satellite emergency call function is available to all iPhone 14 series users running iOS 16.1 and will be available free of charge for two years. The aim is to allow iPhone users to use satellite connections to make emergency calls without a mobile phone or WiFi connection outdoors.

Apple said that with the release of iOS 16..2, if the phone cannot be connected due to a cellular or Wi-Fi connection, users who dial the local emergency service number will automatically be transferred to the European emergency number 112, even if they do not dial 112. can still use the satellite to call for help.

Last month, when the satellite emergency call function was launched in the United States and Canada, Apple said it would be extended to France, Germany, Ireland and the United Kingdom in December. According to Apple, it will provide support to more countries next year.
