CTOnews.com, December 14, the current CEO of Microsoft, Satya Nadella, won the legendary leadership Award (Yale Legend in Leadership Award) at the Yale CEO Summit Summit held on December 14.

The award was awarded by a unanimous vote of Yale representatives and past winners and will be presented by Bill Gates, co-founder of Microsoft and co-chair of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Arvind Krishna, chairman and CEO of IBM, and Alex Gorsky, executive chairman of Johnson.

Jeffrey Sonnenfeld, the summit organizer and senior associate dean of leadership studies at the Yale School of Management, commented. "Satya Nadella is one of the most admirable technology visionaries in the business world today. He boldly and brilliantly led Microsoft's transformation, updating and rekindling Microsoft's innovation and growth culture.

In addition, Satya-Nadella defines Microsoft's success as the company's ability to drive earnings in every community in which it operates. And ensure that it helps promote a more trustworthy, inclusive, fair and sustainable future-including a commitment to negative carbon, positive water and zero waste by 2030.

At the personal level, Nadella has advanced degrees in electrical engineering and computer science. He is a true technologist who brings a sense of technical weight to his corporate leadership. I am honored to use the Yale leadership Legend Award to recognize this technology pioneer and personal inspiration.

CTOnews.com learned that the Legend Leader Award was established 25 years ago to recognize current and former chief executives as living legends to inspire chief executives of industries, departments and countries.
