CTOnews.com December 14 news, AMD in yesterday launched adrenaline 22.12.1 version update, but also launched the Radeon Software for Linux 22.40driver update. This update focuses on adding support for RDNA3-based Radeon RX 7900 series graphics cards.

Radeon Software for Linux 22.40 driver updates provide a packaged driver solution for Ubuntu 22.04.1 LTS, Ubuntu 20.04.5 LTS, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.1 / 8.7 / 7.9 and SUSE Linux Enterprise SLED / SLES 15 SP4.

This driver update has built-in "open" and "pro" options to help users of the above Linux enterprise distributions easily set kernel drivers and various user-space driver options.

In addition to adding support for the Radeon RX 7900 family of GPUs, the only other changes listed in this v22.40 driver version are the current support for RHEL 8.7 and RHEL 9.1 maintenance updates.
