Soonho Ahn, chief technology officer of Volkswagen battery subsidiary PowerCo, said at a job fair for Korean battery workers that Volkswagen would complete its battery plant in Salzjeet, Germany, and then build another battery plant in Spain and other parts of Europe.

CTP refers to the direct integration of the battery core into the battery pack, the same size of the battery pack can hold more cells, thus increasing the battery life of the electric vehicle. At present, the CTP technology in Ningde era has entered the third generation. According to the report, PowerCo may develop CTP technology similar to that of Ningde era.

CTOnews.com learned that PowerCo, a subsidiary of Volkswagen, oversees the development and production of batteries. Volkswagen has previously introduced unified prismatic batteries, which it says will be used in 80% of its electric vehicles by 2030.
