CTOnews.com, December 15 (Xinhua)-- two men recently fell off a cliff due to a traffic accident. Fortunately, they managed to get out of danger through the functions of "satellite emergency help" and "car accident detection" on their iPhone 14 mobile phones.

CTOnews.com learned that the accident occurred on the Angelis Forest Highway in Angelis National Forest, California, when a car ran over a hillside and crashed into a remote canyon about 300ft. The iPhone14 model of the car detected the accident, and because there was no cell phone signal, an emergency SOS was sent to rescue workers by satellite to help rescue workers quickly locate the location.

The victim sent an emergency text message via satellite to an Apple relay center, and employees of the relay center then sent a call for help to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. Montrose research and rescue teams found the two men who fell off the cliff and hoisted them up by helicopter. They were taken to the local hospital and the rescue process was recorded on video.

The Montrose search and rescue team confirmed that Apple's emergency satellite service was used for help, and shared tweets showed that the vehicle suffered extensive damage when it fell down the hill. The search and rescue team said Apple's call center could provide "accurate latitude and longitude of the victim".
