CTOnews.com, December 15 (Xinhua)-- Aliyun today announced the official opening of a third data center in Tokyo, Japan, to meet fast-growing business demand. This is Aliyun's sixth new overseas data center in 2022.

Previously, Aliyun has set up two data centers and local companies in Japan in 2016 and 2019, serving a wide range of areas such as gaming, manufacturing, retail and automobiles.

To meet the fast-growing business needs of the Japanese market, Aliyun opened a third data center in Tokyo to create a more reliable and flexible 3AZ availability zone, which not only provides basic products such as storage, network, computing, security and database, but also brings leading services such as GPU instance, AI rapid engine and cloud native AI Suite to support high performance requirements such as artificial intelligence.

CTOnews.com learned that in this year, Ali Yun traveled to Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Thailand, Mexico and Portugal. Six data centres have been built and six overseas service centres have been established.

According to reports, in the past three years, Aliyun's overseas business has grown more than 10 times, becoming the third largest cloud computing manufacturer in the world and the first in the Asia-Pacific region. According to Gartner statistics, Aliyun's global market share was 9.55% in 2021, growing for six consecutive years.

Since setting up its international headquarters in Singapore in 2015, Aliyun has moved to Singapore, the United States, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, India, Japan, South Korea, Australia, Europe and the Middle East, operating hundreds of data centers in more than 200 countries in 86 availability zones in 28 regions around the world.
