Dell announces a new version of Luna concept notebook: parts such as memory / SSD can be replaced without a screwdriver

CTOnews.com, December 15, Dell announced at the end of last year the conceptual design of Luna Laptop notebooks, which is designed to reduce carbon emissions and increase the sustainability of the product.

Today, a year later, Dell has unveiled a new version of the Luna concept laptop, which is fully repairable and upgradeable with sustainable materials, from memory and SSD to keyboards and screens that can be easily removed and replaced.

According to The Verge, Dell has been working over the past year to further improve the modular design of the Concept Luna, eliminating the need for adhesives and cables, and minimizing the use of screws. The parts of this notebook have a QR code, and the scanning interface goes to the purchase page of the replacement part.

CTOnews.com learned that on the latest version of Concept Luna, users only need to use the USB-C interface on the side for quick disassembly. No screws are used inside the notebook, and there are no visible wires or adhesives, all of which are secured through the slot.

Reported that Dell admitted that the Concept Luna is currently "just a concept", there are no plans for mass production.
