CTOnews.com, December 16, Pine64 has launched a number of cost-friendly, pre-installed Linux distribution laptops, smartphones and single board computers in the past few years. Pine64 is now ready to enter the tablet market again, with plans to launch PineTab2 tablets with Linux pre-installed.

CTOnews.com learned that the PineTab2 will be a 10.1-inch tablet with a Rockchip RK3566 quad-core ARM Cortex-a55 processor, up to 8GB memory and 128GB storage, and a modular, maintainable design.

Like most Pine64 hardware, PineTab 2 is not high in specification and is intended for Linux developers and enthusiasts. Pine64 did not disclose the price of the tablet, but said it would send test tablets to developers in the coming months and hope to sell them after February next year.

CTOnews.com learned that the ports of the PineTab 2 tablet include:

1 x USB 3.0 Type-C

1 x USB 2.0 Type-C (available for charging)

1 x micro HDMI

1 x 3.5mm Audio Port

5 million rear + 2 million front

Support for microSD

Pine64 will sell at least two configurations: one is 4GB memory and 64GB storage, and the other is 8GB memory and 128GB storage. All models will be equipped with a removable keyboard cover.
