Organization: 5G accounts for less than 40% of total FWA connections by 2026, and 4G will remain mainstream

CTOnews.com, December 16 (Xinhua) according to the latest research by DIGITIMES Research, the growth rate of global mobile broadband service subscribers is lower than that of fixed network users in the past three years, a trend that has prompted a number of 5G telecom operators to commercialize fixed wireless access (FWA) services to compete with fixed networks for customers.

As more and more telecom operators are more and more reluctant to invest in the commercialization of 5G services, and the high-frequency characteristics of 5G make it difficult for operators to deploy extensive coverage networks, it is expected that by 2026, 5G accounts for less than 40% of the total FWA connections. 4G will still be the mainstream technology of FWA services.
