CTOnews.com, December 17, according to Qualcomm official news, Qualcomm has now launched the latest Internet of things (IoT) modem-Qualcomm QCX216 LTE Internet of things modem.

Officials say the new Qualcomm QCX216 LTE Internet of things modems allow users to track assets and provide more computing power for Internet of things terminals that need to process data. This high-performance integrated solution brings the speed of optimization for the Internet of things without having a significant impact on battery life, which is critical for expanding Internet of things applications, such as smart meters, trackers, electric travel, parking meters, home automation and security and other location-based solutions, as well as many other vertical industry applications.

CTOnews.com learned that Qualcomm QCX216 LTE Internet of things Modem is a cost-optimized Cat.1bis modem that can be used globally and seamlessly connects to existing LTE cellular infrastructure. The modem supports the scanning capabilities of a variety of access technologies and is used in conjunction with the features supported by Qualcomm ground location Services (Qualcomm Terrestrial Positioning Service) to help customers develop ultra-low power applications for a wide range of industries. The modem will also help OEM manufacturers build more economical Internet of things terminals in a smaller form factor. Qualcomm said the integrated solution can achieve speeds as high as 10Mbps optimized for the Internet of things and run at ultra-low power consumption to extend battery life.
