Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--
CTOnews.com, December 19 (Xinhua)-- Apple plans to release new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models with M2 Pro and M2 Max chips "early next year," Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman reported. The laptops were originally expected to be launched this year, but are said to face delays internally.
Apart from the upgraded chips and possibly faster memory, no major changes are expected in other aspects of the new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro.
CTOnews.com learned that the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models, currently powered by M1 Pro and M1 Max chips, were released in October 2021 with a new design with a bang on the display and restored HDMI ports, MagSafe and SD card readers. Mac redesigns tend to be years apart, so it makes sense for 2023 to be just a configuration improvement.
Gurman also revealed that the new iMac with M3 chip "could be launched as early as the end of 2023", but did not share any further details. The current iMac, launched in April 2021, uses an M1 chip and an ultra-thin color design, and Gurman has previously said that Apple plans to skip the release of the iMac with the M2 chip. He added that Apple is still interested in the new iMac Pro with Apple chips, but it faces internal delays.
According to Gurman, Apple is still testing new Mac mini models with M2 and M2 Pro chips, but he did not share the time frame for the launch.
