CTOnews.com, December 19, Kyocera Co., Ltd. announced on the 19th that it has decided to build a new factory in the Nan Jianzao Industrial Park in Kenzao City, Nagasaki Prefecture (yes, Japan Prefecture).

The company plans to acquire about 150000 square meters of space in the city and start operating in 2026. The number of employees is expected to be about 1000. With regard to the products to be produced, the company said, "our main concern is the parts business."

This is the first large-scale enterprise stationed in the county since Canon, which was stationed here in March 2010. The Nanjian early Industrial Park developed by the municipal government in Xiaoli area has a total sales area of about 20 hectares in Phase I and Phase II. The company asked the city and county to requisition about 15 hectares of land.

Kyocera said it positioned its semiconductor-related business as a driver of growth and expected capital investment to reach a record high of 200 billion yen in the fiscal year ending March 31, 2023, amid strong demand for related components.

In addition, a new plant in Kagoshima prefecture will also start production in October next year, significantly increasing the production of semiconductor components.
