Us electric carmaker Tesla tweeted on Twitter that the company's Berlin superfactory in Glenhead, Germany, produced 3000 electric SUV last week, much slower than CEO Elon Musk expected a year ago.

Mr Musk said 14 months ago that the Tesla Berlin super factory planned to achieve its target of producing 5000 to 10, 000 cars a week by the end of this year.

After several months of ups and downs, Tesla Berlin Super Factory officially opened in March this year. A few weeks after the plant officially went into production, Musk called the company's superplants in Berlin, Germany and Texas a "giant melting pot" that burned billions of dollars.

Although the production of electric vehicles at Tesla's Berlin super factory is growing steadily, producing 2000 vehicles in the last week of September, efforts to produce batteries, expand the plant and improve logistics capacity have been hampered by local regulation in Germany. At an event last year, Mr Musk warned that mass production in Glenhead would be "very difficult", adding that the company needed "a lot of talented and diligent people to achieve this goal".

Tesla is ready to implement a 24-hour production plan with three shifts at the Berlin super factory, local media reported last week. According to the report, there are currently more than 7500 people working in the Berlin super factory.
