American players have won the Guinness Book of Records, the world's largest collection of video games, with a total of 24268

CTOnews.com, December 21 (Xinhua) A player in the United States has broken the Guinness World record with a collection of 24268 video games.

Antonio Romero Montero (Antonio Romero Monteiro), a 45-year-old video game player from Texas, has collected more than 30 games since 1987 and has held the record for the largest collection of video games since 2019, when he had 20139 games. In less than three years, the number of video games he owns has increased by more than 4000. There are now as many as 24268.

According to the Guinness Book of World Records, Montero's collection of games spans more than 100 consoles and is worth a total of $2.1 million. "at first, my collection focused on buying and rebuying some of the games I played when I was young, slowly expanding to include games I always wanted to play but didn't have a chance to play, and eventually to complete the collection of individual systems," Montero said. "

Montero's collection also earned him the title of the largest collector of Xbox items in Guinness World Records, the largest collector of Sega items, the largest collector of Nintendo items and the largest collector of PlayStation items.

CTOnews.com learned that Montero has been able to track and manage his entire collection using a dual inventory system. One of the inventory systems is an application that catalogs every game he owns in system and alphabetical order. Another system is the custom database created by Montero, which is used to check the games he owns and the games he lacks to complete his collection.
