Samsung completes its largest research and development center in Southeast Asia: at a cost of US $220 million, located in Hanoi, Vietnam
CTOnews.com, December 21 (Xinhua) in March 2020, Samsung began building a new R & D center in Hanoi, Vietnam, at an estimated cost of $220 million (currently about 1.531 billion yuan).
The research and development center has now been completed, and Samsung Electronics Executive Chairman Lee Jae-yong will visit Vietnam this week to celebrate the achievement and will arrive in Hanoi, the capital, on Thursday, the Korea Herald reported.
It is reported that Samsung's new R & D center in Hanoi, Vietnam covers an area of 11603 square meters. The building has a total of 19 floors, including three underground floors with a total floor area of 79522 square meters. when completed, it will become Samsung's largest R & D center in Southeast Asia. Samsung is expected to develop smartphones, tablets, hardware and software at the center. The R & D center will also employ up to 3000 people.
CTOnews.com learned that Samsung currently has 17 R & D centers around the world, including Canada, China, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Poland, Russia, South Korea, Turkey, the Philippines, the United Kingdom and the United States.
