CTOnews.com, December 21-Japan Display (JDI), jointly formed by Hitachi, Toshiba and Sony, will display a 20.8-inch transparent liquid crystal display "R æ lclear" at CES 2023, which opens in Las Vegas on January 5, 2023, with a light transmittance of 84%.

JDI officials say that in the exhibition, you can experience a future interaction in which artificial intelligence can serve people on both sides of R æ lclear screen at the same time. JDI uses its proprietary technology to create a transparent display that has the highest light transmittance in the world, is "as transparent as glass", is clearly visible from both sides, and "enables unique two-way communication".

CTOnews.com learned that JDI had previously introduced a smaller 12.3in version of R æ lclear, while the latest 20.8in version was not only larger, but also the original backplane technology doubled the refresh rate and successfully reduced flicker. In addition, due to the use of high-brightness LED, twice as bright as the 12.3-inch version and significantly improved visibility, mass production is scheduled for the fall of 2023.

The 20.8-inch R æ lclear has a resolution of 1280 x 720, supports 4096 colors, has a refresh rate of up to 120Hz, a light transmittance of 84%, and a brightness of up to 300 nits.
