The James Webb Space Telescope has now recovered from the failure, and NASA is trying to reschedule delayed scientific observation tasks.
CTOnews.com, December 23, December 7, NASA said there was a software problem with the James Webb Space Telescope. The latest announcement indicates that the problem has been solved. It is said that the problem is "due to a software failure triggered by the attitude control system pointed to by the control observatory".
CTOnews.com learned that the failure led Weber directly into safe mode to protect himself by shutting down non-essential systems. Of course, this glitch didn't completely stop JWST's work.
"this incident led to the suspension of scientific action for several days during that period," NASA said. Weber returned to state on December 20 after the telescope team adjusted the command system. "the observatory and instruments are healthy and free from any danger, while Weber's airborne fault management system works as expected to ensure hardware safety."
The James Webb Space Telescope, a joint project of NASA, the European Space Agency and the Canadian Space Agency, was launched in December 2021. NASA is trying to reschedule interrupted scientific observations.
