Apple responded to iOS 16..2 update "Home" app jam and other problems, fix patch is coming soon

However, some users got stuck and lost their devices during the upgrade process, and Apple said in a statement today that it was about to launch a new patch to fix this problem.

CTOnews.com learned that Apple pointed out in a press release sent to foreign technology media 9to5Mac:

We acknowledge that there is a problem that may affect users' sharing capabilities in Home applications. We will launch a repair plan as soon as possible. In the meantime, we have temporarily cancelled the option to upgrade to the new Home architecture. Users who have been upgraded will not be affected.

Previous problems reported by users include: the HomeKit device stays in an "updated" or "configured" state, the device is completely lost, the invitation to share Home with other users failed, HomeKit security video recording does not work, and so on.

CTOnews.com learned that functions such as remote access, shared home, notification, automation, "HomeKit security video" and "adaptive lighting" in the new Home architecture require home hubs such as HomePod. The new "family" architecture does not support the use of iPad as a home hub. You can continue to use the "home" App on iPad to connect and control smart home accessories. Any connected device running a non-latest version of the software will not be able to access the upgraded home until it is updated.
