Thanks to CTOnews.com netizen OC_Formula for the clue delivery! CTOnews.com, December 24, the Wall Street Journal reported that Delta plans to provide free Wi-Fi services on its flights in early 2023. The company is testing the service to "serve specific customers on specific routes".

Tuyuan Pexels in March this year, Delta Airlines announced that by the end of 2022, all its domestic aircraft will be equipped with a connection level similar to that of the home Wi-Fi. Delta chose Viasat as its Wi-Fi supplier and will start charging $5 for on-board use in 2021. CTOnews.com has learned that Viasat is one of Delta's two Wi-Fi suppliers and currently operates on more than 400 of the company's aircraft. If the airline cancels the charge, it may become a benefit to attract passengers.

Delta will launch a free Wi-Fi service on "a significant number" of its aircraft and then launch it in other parts of its fleet later this year, according to the Wall Street Journal. It is unclear whether Delta will continue to provide this feature through Viasat or other vendors Intelsat.

Delta did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
