CTOnews.com December 27 news, VGChartz's latest estimated host sales report shows that as of December 3, 2022, global Nintendo Switch host sales have exceeded 118.2 million.

This also enabled Switch to successfully surpass Sony PS4's 117.03 million units to become the fourth largest console sold in the world. The top three were PlayStation 2 (PS2), Nintendo DS (DS) and Game Boy (GB).

CTOnews.com learned that in August, Nintendo reported results for the first quarter of fiscal year 2022-2023 (April 1, 2022-June 30, 2022). Nintendo's sales in the quarter were 307.46 billion yen, down 4.7% from a year earlier, and its profit was 101.647 billion yen, down 15.1% from a year earlier, according to the data. In terms of sales, by the end of June 2022, Nintendo had sold a total of 11.08 million Switch units and 800 million copies of software, with a total of 3.43 million Switch units and 4141 million copies of software sold in the quarter.
