It is reported that Samsung Galaxy S22 series falls short of the sales forecast of 30 million units.
CTOnews.com, December 27, according to fnnews, South Korean sources said that Samsung's ASP (average selling price) has increased by only 2% this year, while Apple has increased by 7%, and the ASP gap with Apple is likely to widen further.
CTOnews.com learned that Samsung Electronics' flagship Galaxy S22 series this year was far from what the industry had expected, with shipments of far less than 30 million units. As a result, Samsung's profits fell 4% from a year earlier, and its global smartphone share fell by 0.2%.
Local media and analysts pointed out that Samsung could lose its high-end image abroad because the best-selling model is the low-end model Galaxy A12, while sales of folding screen devices in the United States are also lower than expected and are expected to continue to decline throughout the Christmas holiday.
According to statistics, the most shipped model in the global smartphone market last year was the Galaxy A12, with a total supply of about 51.8 million units. Among the top 10 models, Samsung Electronics only has the Galaxy A12 and Galaxy A02 (18.3 million). Apple's flagship models, from iPhone 11 to iPhone 13, occupy most of the seats.
Judging from the smartphone supply of Samsung Electronics in various regions, the initial launch of Galaxy Z Flip4 in South Korea and Europe remained at around 30% to 40%. On the contrary, the proportion of the aircraft in the US market has fallen sharply. The share of US Galaxy Z Flip4 supply is forecast to fall from 29 per cent in the third quarter to 7 per cent in the fourth quarter. In Japan, China, Canada and other countries, the proportion of supply is not more than 10%.
Industry insiders said: "Samsung Galaxy has a strong flagship image in South Korea, but it has different recognition in overseas markets, which is why Samsung needs to invest more energy in overseas markets."
