China has launched the construction of the world's largest hybrid pumped storage project, which will become the world's largest hybrid storage "portable battery".
CTOnews.com, December 29, according to CCTV News, the construction of the Yalong River Estuary Hybrid pumped Storage Power Station, the largest and highest hybrid pumped storage project in the world, officially began today.
CTOnews.com learned that the project is located in Yajiang County, Ganzi Prefecture, Sichuan Province, and the construction site is 3000 meters above sea level, relying on the Lianghekou Hydropower Station Reservoir, the largest reservoir in Sichuan Province, as the upper reservoir, and the Yagen I Hydropower Station Reservoir, which connects the cascade hydropower stations downstream, as the lower reservoir.
China Investment Group said that the Lianghekou mixed storage plant is the highest large-scale mixed storage project in China. The power station installed 1.2 million kilowatt reversible units, coupled with the 3 million kilowatt conventional hydropower units that have been built, with a total installed capacity of 4.2 million kilowatts, making it the largest mixed storage "portable battery" in the world. It can absorb about 7 million kilowatts of wind and light new energy.
According to reports, after the base is completed, it will be able to pay about 14 billion yuan in taxes and fees each year, contributing more than 280 billion kilowatt hours of clean electricity, equivalent to reducing the consumption of standard coal by about 85 million tons and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by about 230 million tons.
