CTOnews.com, December 30 (Xinhua)-- Healthcare company Movano has launched a smart ring Evie that tracks women's menstruation. The company said the smart ring is confident that it has been approved by the US Food and Drug Administration, but that it has not yet received official regulatory approval. If approved, the Evie will be a medical-grade device for pulse oximeter indicators and heart rate measurements.

Healthcare company Movano says the smart ring was tested by hypoxia in October 2022, and its clinical SpO2 and heart rate accuracy meet FDA standards. Compared with other smart rings of the same type, healthcare company Movano says the monitoring data are more accurate.

CTOnews.com learned that the ring can help women track changes in skin temperature, menstruation and ovulation, as well as menstrual symptoms. Movano says it aims to help women "better understand the reasons behind what they feel." In addition to the main menstrual tracking, the smart ring also includes measuring steps, activity time, calories burned, sleep stages and duration, and mood.

The Evie ring will appear at CES 2023 for the second time in early January. It was first launched on CES in 2022, but there was no final name or price at that time. After missing the promised 2022 launch, Evie is now scheduled to go on sale sometime in 2023. The company says its price should be less than $300, with no additional monthly subscription fees.
