DDR5 memory sticks are becoming more and more popular, and the contract price of 8GB models has dropped by 43% this year.

CTOnews.com, December 31, foreign media Tom's Hardware quoted DigiTimes data as saying that the spot price of DRAM has dropped by 40% this year. The contract price of the 8GB DDR5 module has dropped by 43% during 2022.

With the support of AMD and Intel's latest platforms, the PC industry will gradually shift to DDR5 system memory in 2022. In the domestic e-commerce platform, the basic price of 8GB DDR5-4800 has been as low as 200yuan, and the price of 16GB DDR5-5600 is in the range of 500600 yuan, which is not much different from that of DDR4 memory.

CTOnews.com learned that currently AMD's latest AM5 platform only supports DDR5 memory sticks, while Intel's latest 700s platform can choose DDR5 and DDR4 models, and users can still choose high-frequency DDR4 models with low timing.

In terms of frequency, the mainstream DDR5 memory frequency from DDR5-4800, currently available DDR5-7000 to 8000 models, but high-frequency memory prices, 16GB*2 specifications up to 4000 multiple.
