This data can help developers optimize their games, and Steam hardware and software surveys are also important sources of information about the share of various Windows versions. It is worth mentioning that participating in the survey is optional, so the data do not represent 100% of Steam users.

CTOnews.com learned that the December survey showed that Windows 11 was constantly grabbing users from Windows 10. According to Valve, Windows 11's share of Steam reached 28.42% in December 2022, an increase of 0.44% compared to November 2022.

Windows 1064-bit is the most widely used operating system version on Steam, losing only 0.18% in December 2022 and still has a market share of 65.42%. Windows 7 ranked third at 64, with a current share of 1.66% (- 0.22).

Overall, Microsoft's operating system family dominates the market with 96.15% market share (+ 0.04%), Apple macOS ranks second with 2.48% (+ 0.03) and Linux ranks third with 1.38% (- 0.06).

As for hardware, compared with last month, there is no significant change, the most popular CPU, GPU, memory are still Intel, Nvidia GTX 1650, 16GB.
