According to CTOnews.com on January 3, rumors about Google's Pixel Fold have been around for several years, and last month a reliable source released the first rendering of the machine. Now, a South Korean media has revealed more details about the plane.

The Elec reported that Google plans to start mass production of Pixel Fold and related components in the third quarter of 2023. In other words, the foldable phone will definitely not be launched in the first half of this year, but probably in the fourth quarter.

By contrast, Samsung began mass production of Z Flip 4 and Z Fold 4 components in May 2022, and the finished phone was produced about a month later, followed by its release in August 2022.

The report also confirmed some more screen details about the Pixel Fold, which uses a foldable inner screen of 7.57inch ultra-thin glass and a 5.78inch outer screen. These sizes are slightly different from the previously leaked information.

The Elec also hinted that Pixel Fold's screen may not be as good as Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Z Fold 4, and Google may not use the collapsible screen technology that made its debut on Galaxy Z Fold 3, which makes the collapsible screen thinner. Pixel Fold is unlikely to support stylus, the report said.

There are still a lot of doubts about this report, following news that Google will release Pixel Fold in April or May 2023.
