Supporting Dolby panoramic sound, Samsung released HW-Q990C and HW-G60C bar stereos
CTOnews.com, January 4, Samsung unveiled two bar stereos, HW-Q990C and HW-G60C, at CES 2023, both of which support Dolby panoramic audio, but are different in size and format.
The HW-Q990C is Samsung's flagship model, equipped with two rear speakers and a wireless subwoofer. Use Samsung's own Q-Symphony 3.0 to set up 11.1.4 channels to "accurately guide individual audio elements" through bar sound and TV sound. Samsung says the Q-Symphony can use up to 22 channels through a TV-compatible processor.
The company said the Q990C can also be "automatically paired" with the TV to adjust the entire system to the best performance. After pairing with Samsung TV, the dialogue in the video can be played on Q990C, while the background sound is played by TV stereo. The company says this helps improve 3D audio.
In order to make the whole device suitable for your living room or home theater, Samsung also added a SpaceFit calibration system. Samsung explained that the technology uses artificial intelligence to adjust the frequency and gain level of a single driver to correctly fill the room.
The night mode is adjusted for low volume listening, Adaptive Sound 2.0 uses artificial intelligence to optimize audio, and Game Professional 2.0 adjusts settings for various genres. HW-Q990C is also a SmartThings hub that provides voice control and the ability to change things within SmartThings applications.
CTOnews.com learned that HW-G60C is relatively compact, using a combination of beamforming and virtual Dolby panoramic sound to create a 3D feel. Samsung said the more compact device could also be used as computer speakers and smart speakers due to the use of echo cancellation microphones and two-way audio.
