CTOnews.com, January 4, Apple has placed an order with display supplier BOE for the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro panels for the second half of 2023. By 2024, the supplier is likely to overtake Samsung to become the largest display supplier to iPhone.

Analyst Guo Mingyi said that BOE will beat Samsung in the upcoming orders for iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro, and by 2024, BOE will begin to ship large-scale high-end LTPO displays for iPhone, making it the largest display supplier.

BOE will beat Samsung to win most orders for new iPhone 15 and 15 Plus displays in the second half of 2023. If development and production go well in the coming months, BOE will become the largest supplier of iPhone 15 and 15 Plus displays, with a market share of about 70 per cent (compared with Samsung's 30 per cent).

BOE is expected to start shipping large-scale LTPO displays for high-end iPhone in 2024, with Samsung and LG displays also suppliers. If BOE can secure orders for 20-30 per cent of 2H24 high-end iPhone LTPO displays and maintain about 70 per cent of the market share of 2H24 low-end iPhone displays, then BOE is likely to become the largest supplier of 2H24's new iPhone displays. BOE has made unsuccessful attempts in the past and is said to have failed product verification tests, so it is not yet a more important member of Apple's supply chain.
