From January to November 2022, total mobile phone shipments in the domestic market totaled 244 million units, down 23.2% from the same period last year. Among them, 5G mobile phone shipments were 191 million units, down 20.2% from the same period last year, accounting for 78.3% of mobile phone shipments in the same period.

CTOnews.com learned that in November 2022, 43 new models of mobile phones were launched in China, down 8.5% from the same period last year, including 26 5G phones, an increase of 73.3% over the same period last year, accounting for 60.5% of the number of new models on the market in the same period. From January to November 2022, there were a total of 381 new models on the market, down 10.8% from the same period last year, of which 202 5G phones were down 0.5% from the same period last year, accounting for 53.0% of the number of new models on the market in the same period.

In terms of brand composition, in November 2022, domestic brand mobile phones shipped 20.108 million units, down 28.3% from the same period last year, accounting for 86.5% of mobile phone shipments in the same period; 38 new models were on the market, down 11.6% from the same period last year, accounting for 88.4% of the number of new mobile phones on the market in the same period. From January to November 2022, domestic brand mobile phone shipments totaled 207 million units, down 24.9% from the same period last year, accounting for 84.8% of mobile phone shipments in the same period; a total of 346 new models were on the market, down 10.8% from the same period last year, accounting for 90.8% of the number of new mobile phones on the market in the same period.

In terms of the development of domestic smartphones, in November 2022, 22.218 million smartphones were shipped, down 36.2% from the same period last year, accounting for 95.6% of mobile phone shipments in the same period. From January to November 2022, smartphone shipments were 2370 million units, down 23.6% from the same period last year, accounting for 97.2% of mobile phone shipments in the same period. In November 2022, 37 new models of smartphones were launched, an increase of 12.1% over the same period last year, accounting for 86.0% of the number of new models on the market in the same period. From January to November 2022, a total of 318 new models of smartphones were launched, down 11.2% from the same period last year, accounting for 83.5% of the number of new models on the market in the same period.
