Philips brings light synchronization to Samsung TV for the first time and launches a new floodlight bulb
CTOnews.com, January 5 / PRNewswire-FirstCall-Asianet /-- Signify, parent company of Philips Hue, announced today the launch of a paid Philips Hue Sync TV app for Samsung TVs. Users of Samsung smart TVs will be able to connect Hue light bulbs and lighting products to their televisions, which can change color according to the content on the screen.
In general, synchronizing lights with media content usually requires the purchase of a $250 Hue Play HDMI sync box and a streaming device connected to the sync box, such as the Apple TV. Samsung TV's integration will interact directly with Hue lights at a lower price of $130 and will work for all image formats and TV content, including native applications such as Netflix.
The Philips Hue series has also launched a new PAR38 floodlight bulb in white and color atmosphere in the United States, which allows white and color light to be used in backyards and sidewalks.
The Hue Tap dial switch also provides a new circular mini-mounting base that can replace the conventional wall mount.
CTOnews.com learned that the Philips Hue Sync TV app for the 2022 and newer Samsung Q60 and higher QLED TVs can be purchased from the Samsung TV App Store for $130,130 (currently about RMB898) from January 5.
Philips Hue PAR38 white and color atmosphere lights will be available in the United States from March 14 at a price of $80, and Philips Hue Tap dial switches will be available in the United States at a price of $50 on March 14.
