CTOnews.com, January 5, TCL unveiled a large number of new products at CES 2023, including new mobile phones, Windows portable laptops and so on. There is also a noteworthy TCL Nxtpaper 12 Pro tablet, which is a new tablet with color e-ink ink screen, the price is more close to the people, and the color display effect is excellent.

Unlike a normal LCD panel that changes the screen temperature to a yellowish color, TCL's Nxtpaper technology relies on a built-in multi-layer filtering system. This not only reduces blue light exposure, but also makes the color profile as close to nature as possible and reduces glare effects.

TCL provides dedicated reading mode for its Nxtpaper series of tablets to convert screen output to grayscale mode for an e-ink experience. As for the paper part of the marketing material, TCL said that "the touch is like touching real paper", adding that the actual display surface has a paper touch.

In terms of the system, the tablet uses Nxtpaper display technology to double the brightness output and bring a more comfortable outdoor viewing experience. However, the company guarantees that the screen can still reduce Blu-ray output by up to 61 per cent, despite an increase in brightness numbers.

The Nxtpaper 12 Pro tablet offers a fairly clear 12.2-inch 2K (2160 x 1440 pixels) display with a peak brightness of 370N and an aspect ratio of 3:2, which is a bit like iPad Pro. Naturally, as an e-ink ink screen, you can't expect the screen to have a high refresh rate.

CTOnews.com learned that the tablet is powered by MediaTek's MT8771 chipset, which is the same as the TCL 10s 5G tablet. It will be available in a single configuration that includes 8GB RAM and 256GB onboard storage. Fortunately, you can insert a SDHC or SDXC card to increase storage space.

The 8000mAh battery is said to last up to 13 hours. The TCL Nxtpaper 12 Pro supports 18W fast charging, and fortunately, the power bricks are bundled in retail packaging. It is worth noting that TCL bundles standard electronic stylus and can identify more than 8192 stress levels in retail packaging, just like Samsung.
