CTOnews.com January 5, Sony SIE President Jim Ryan announced on CES 2023 that as of December 2022, sales of PlayStation 5 game consoles had exceeded 30 million, about 5 million more than the last sales figure released in November.

"from now on, it will be easier for anyone who wants a PS5 to find one at a global retailer," Jim Ryan, the company's game director, said at the CES show.

CTOnews.com learned that the Sony PlayStation 5 was launched in November 2020, and it wasn't until August 2022 that Sonny announced that it was "almost easy to buy." For most of the console's life cycle, you are either very lucky to buy a console on the spot or are willing to pay a much higher retail price than the console manufacturer, such as scalpers or Best Buy. Even recently, PS5 consoles featured bundles of $550, including a PS5 with a CD-ROM drive and a game such as Horizon: the West's Junction or Ares: the Gods of Twilight, but the price range varies widely because the digital console costs $399.99.

In August last year, Sony SIE announced that it would raise the price of PS5 in several countries and regions. After the price increase of Bank of China PS5, it is 4299 yuan for CD-ROM version and 3499 yuan for digital version.
