AMD releases Sharon 7040 series notebook processors: 8-core Zen4 architecture, RDNA3 core display

CTOnews.com January 5 news, AMD today released 7040 series of notebook processors. This series of processors uses 4nm technology, uses 8-core Zen4 CPU and RDNA3 kernel display, and is equipped with the latest Ruilong AI engine.

In terms of performance, Ruilong 7040 series notebook processors lead their competitors in multithreading performance by 34% and game performance by 21% and AI by 20%.

In terms of battery life, the battery life of Ruilong 7040 series notebooks has been improved again, up to 30 + hours of video playback time.

AMD Ruilong 7040 HS series model parameters are as follows:

R9 7940HS:8 core 16 threads, up to 5.2GHz TDP 35-45W

R7 7840HS:8 core 16 threads, up to 5.1GHz TDP 35-45W

R5 7640HS:6 core 12 threads, up to 5.0GHz TDP 35-45W

CTOnews.com has learned that notebooks with Ruilong 7040 HS processors will be available in March 2023.
