CTOnews.com, January 6, according to the Wall Street Journal, Delta Air Lines said it plans to offer free Wi-Fi to passengers from February 1. This is part of a broader new entertainment package that could intensify competition among airlines to provide services on aircraft.
About 80 per cent of the US domestic trunk fleet will be equipped and launched a free Wi-Fi service early next month, and more flights will join the service every week, Delta CEO Ed Bastian revealed on Thursday local time.
CTOnews.com learned that Delta Airlines said that by the end of this year, more than 700 aircraft will offer free Wi-Fi; by the end of next year, and the service will be expanded to all international and regional flights to American Airlines.
At CES 2023 in Las Vegas, Bastian said: "this service is free, the Internet is very fast, and it is open to everyone." T-Mobile US is working with Delta to provide the service, which will be open to all Delta passengers.
