Thank you, CTOnews.com netizens, for your clue delivery! CTOnews.com, January 6 (Xinhua)-- Microsoft's free system utility suite called PowerToys has been revived from the Windows XP era and introduced Windows 10 in May 2019. Can be used for advanced users to adjust and simplify Windows operations to improve efficiency. Used in conjunction with Windows 10/Windows 11 shell while allowing users to customize individual workflows.

PowerToys 0.66.0 is now available for download with many fixes, improvements, and minor changes. This version includes a stand-alone .NET 7, which means that you no longer need to install PowerToys separately before it works. CTOnews.com has learned that Quick access initiators have not been added in this release.

Here are the highlights of the update:

The PowerToys utility now comes with a stand-alone .NET 7, which means that .NET does not need to be installed as part of the installer and is easier to keep up-to-date.

You can choose which installed OCR language the text extractor uses by selecting it from the right-click context menu.

A setting has been added in Quick access to sort the order of emphasis characters according to how often they are used.

There are no known issues in this release.

PowerToys can be downloaded from the Microsoft Store, winget, or visit the GitHub page for more information.
