TikTok CEO weekly recipient will meet with EU antitrust director to discuss personal data protection

Beijing, January 7 (Xinhua) according to the calendar released by the European Commission on Friday, TikTok CEO will meet with EU antitrust director Marguerite Vestager (Margrethe Vestager) in Brussels on January 10.

According to the calendar, Zhou will also meet with EU Commissioner for values and Transparency Vera Jourova and EU Home Affairs Commissioner Ylva Johansson on the same day.

A spokesman for the European Commission said the meeting was expected to cover issues such as the protection of personal data on online platforms such as TikTok and the implementation of the EU's Digital Services Law. He declined to comment on more details of the meeting or who requested it.

At present, TikTok is under increasing operational pressure in the United States. The federal government and several states have banned employees from using TikTok on official equipment. TikTok is still seeking a security agreement with the US government.
