Throwing pots for chaos management? Musk said it was Twitter's fault to hire the wrong team of lawyers.

Beijing, January 7 (Xinhua)-- Elon Musk, chief executive of Twitter, said in an email to Reuters on Friday that in this week's California federal lawsuit, the lawyer who hired Perkins Coy was "a mistake for members of the Twitter team" and will not make it again, adding that "Perkins will not represent Twitter in future cases."

Lawyers for Perkins Coy appeared in court for Twitter on Wednesday, Reuters reported earlier, although Musk denounced the company on social media platforms, including a tweet released last month about the company's past work for former Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.

Musk did not immediately respond to follow-up questions, including whether Perkins Coy would continue to serve as legal counsel for Twitter in at least six other lawsuits before Musk owned it. A spokesman for Perkins Coy didn't immediately respond to a request for comment.

In response, Mr Musk reshuffled Twitter's external legal team and fired Vijaya Gadde, Twitter's legal affairs and policy officer, as well as other senior staff associated with the matter, in a sign of his efforts to cover up the past bias of Perkins Coy, which he criticised.
