CTOnews.com has learned that many companies are already cutting costs in response to slowing demand and economic pressures, including layoffs. Microsoft announced layoffs in October, Amazon laid off 18,000 people and Meta laid off 11,000 people. Salesforce said this week that about 10 percent of its workforce, or about 7,000 people, will lose their jobs and Micron will lay off about 4,800 people.
