Electric lifebuoy unveiled in CES 2023: speed 15 km / h, range 6 km, support remote control

CTOnews.com, January 8 (Xinhua)-- Portuguese company Noras Performance showed off an electric remote-controlled lifebuoy called U-Safe on CES 2023, which can arrive quickly when people are drowning.

The lifebuoy is shaped in an orange or white U-shaped shape with thrusters on both sides and weighs only 13kg. It can reach a speed of up to 15km / h on the water and has a range of 3.2nautical miles (about 6km).

The lifebuoy supports remote control, and personnel on shore or on board only need to remove the rocker from the base of the U-Safe. Drowning people can grasp the handles on both sides of the U-Safe to keep floating and wait for rescuers to arrive.

CTOnews.com learned that Noras Performance said the lifebuoy has been used by Italian and Portuguese coast guards and will be available in the United States by the end of this year.
