Car supplier Zaifu recently unveiled its latest technology, called heated seat belts (Heat Belt), which is originally designed to use seat belts to heat passengers, which can reduce the amount of electricity consumed by air conditioners, thereby indirectly increasing the range of electric vehicles.

Zaifu's heated seat belt system can heat the passenger's body at the same time as the heated seat. In theory, you only need to turn on the seat belt heating and seat heating, without turning on the air conditioner to heat the entire carriage. it can make drivers and passengers feel comfortable while driving.

CTOnews.com learned that the Heat-Belt is a three-point seat belt heated by wires in the fabric, and ZF has adopted a special textile process for this innovation. The heating conductor is woven in the structure of the seat belt, and the position of the contact element of the electric heating circuit will not affect the operation or retraction of the seat belt.

Zaifu points out that for electric vehicles, the use of such heating seat belts instead of traditional air-conditioning control systems will lead to up to 15% improvement in battery life.

Zaifu explained that the biggest advantage of this technology is short trips. Electric vehicles are very inefficient in heating internal air through air conditioners, and air heated with a large amount of energy will not be used for a long time.
