CTOnews.com reported on January 10 that chalk was listed on the main board of the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong on January 9 at a price of HK $9.90 per share. The shares are traded on a basis of 500 shares per share, and the net valuation of the proceeds from the global offering is approximately HK $119.9 million (about RMB 105 million).

According to the data, the average number of monthly active users of chalk increased from about 2.9 million in 2019 to about 4.7 million in 2020, to about 6.5 million in 2021, and further to about 7.5 million in the six months ended June 30, 2022.

As of June 30, 2022, the chalk question bank has a total of about 2.3 million questions, and students have conducted about 1.9 billion online exercises through the platform, corresponding to more than 30.9 billion exercises.

According to the prospectus, the chalk revenue from 2019 to 2021 was 1.16 billion yuan, 2.132 billion yuan and 3.428 billion yuan respectively, and the company's revenue for the six months ended June 30, 2022 was 1.451 billion yuan. From 2019 to 2021 and the six months ended June 30, 2022, the gross profit of chalk technology was 536.2 million yuan, 489.9 million yuan, 840.9 million yuan and 689.3 million yuan respectively, and the gross profit margin was 46.2%, 23.0%, 24.5% and 47.5%, respectively.

Zhang Xiaolong, founder and CEO of chalk, said that chalk is able to make use of new technologies such as mobile Internet and artificial intelligence to transform the way knowledge is transmitted, improve learning efficiency and finally be recognized by the majority of users in the big wave of science and technology.

CTOnews.com learned that chalk shares closed up 12.12% to HK $11.1 on its first day of trading, with a total market capitalization of HK $23.28 billion (about 20.417 billion yuan).
